On Feb. 17 the Lancaster Science Factory in Pennsylvania hosted a program by the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association, located in Berks and Schuylkill counties. This event brought hundreds of kids into the factory, and one old man with his camera.
Yeah, that’s right – that old man was this writer! Being a bird of prey fan and photographer, I had heard of Hawk Mountain, but never had a chance to take a trip there.
“Good morning,” a voice calls from behind me.
Thinking it’s just another angler walking down the pathway on the Ohio side of the Greenup Lock and Dam, I toss back, “Top o’ the mornin’ to ya!” Instead of a fellow fisherman, I look up to see an officer with the Ohio DNR. As we’re chatting about the weather and the occasional, “Catching anything yet?” the officer asks to see my fishing license.
