MN Daily Update: Cougar kittens confirmed in Michigan for first time in more than a century

This is the first time cougar cubs have been verified since the big cats were hunted out of existence in Michigan in the early 1900s, said Brian Roell, large carnivore specialist for the Michigan DNR. (Contributed photos)

The Michigan DNR announced on March 13 that it had confirmed a pair of cougar kittens in Ontonagon County. It’s the first confirmation in more than 100 years of cougar kits living in Michigan. Listen here for more details.
