New York stripers on the fly just what the doctor ordered

Like so many outdoor adventures, this one started with a chance encounter. What some call serendipity. Or just good luck.
“What do you do?” the doctor asked.
“I’m a sailboat captain on Lake Superior,” my son Jon answered.
“Do you fish?” The doctor asked. That brief exchange led to a longer conversation that had the doctor’s assistant looking at her watch, knowing they were falling behind in their packed schedule of appointments.
