A bill filed in the Illinois Senate would allow hunters to help provide fresh meat to food pantries.
It would also give hunters more opportunity to provide venison. Senate Bill 2160 was filed by State Sen. Patrick Joyce, R-Kankakee, and would amend the Human Services Act to provide grants to food banks and other entities for the purchase of venison meat from processors and butchers.
