Each year, new hunting, shooting, and archery-related products are introduced around the Archery Trade Association Show (ATA) and National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Shooting, Hunting, Outdoors Trade (SHOT) Show.

It’s where manufacturers from all over the world unveil their new products, and retailers show up to estimate what the hottest sellers will be for the upcoming season.

Load up on what is new below.

HEVI-SHOT

Hevi-Shot was pushing its all-new shotshell product line, Hevi-Hitter.

These new waterfowl loads deliver a balance of the sheer power of tungsten with the patterning and practicality of steel to deliver better lethality on ducks and geese. Hevi-Hitter will be initially available in eleven 12-, 16-, 20-, and 28-gauge options.

Features and benefits include 20% 2 g/cc tungsten and 80% precision steel payload, large patterns at close-to-moderate range, pellet counts and power for longer-range kills, a reliable HEVI-Shot wad and primer, and nontoxic shot for use in restricted hunting areas.

VORTEX

For years, hunters and shooters who wanted to mount a red dot to their shotgun had to settle for placing it on the rib or using a variety of plates and shims.

The Vortex Viper changes all that with its integrated mount and universal mounting system.

It’s simple to get Viper mounted on your drilled and tapped shotgun right out of the box. Not only does this get you mounted up and into the field faster, it ensures your dot is in a natural location that doesn’t interfere with your cheek weld.

Put it all together and you get a dot that fits your shotgun and how you shoot.

FEDERAL AMMUNITION

Federal Ammunition created a buzz with its Master Class loads in Las Vegas this year which is composed of six 2 3⁄4-inch 12-gauge offerings.

This competition-level sporting clay load features a customized Podium wad that extracts peak performance from Federal’s straight-wall hull. Reliable primers, high-antimony lead shot, and select propellant combine to break the most challenging targets.

Also brand, spanking new is the 7mm Backcountry, a high-performance, all-range cartridge. It provides superior ballistics and terminal performance through compact, shorter-barreled suppressed rifles, producing 3,000 fps velocities with 170-grain bullets through 20-inch barrels.

The cartridge achieves all of this through the patented Peak Alloy case. The next-generation, one-piece case design of an advanced, high-strength alloy allows higher velocities over modern brass case ammunition.
