The Ohio DNR (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is accepting public comments until Thursday, Feb. 13, on a proposed oil and gas project beneath Zepernick Wildlife Area in Columbiana County. This public comment is a federal requirement per the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for wildlife areas acquired with federal funds.

I was reminded recently of a column I wrote several years back about George Stitz, a fine gentleman hunter who, like the Energizer bunny, is still going at the young age of 98.
George’s story is something that really touched my heart. He shot a doe on Jan. 2 with his trusty crossbow and with the help of his son-in-law, Bob Yoho. The hunting duo lives in Canal Fulton in the Akron/Canton area of Ohio.
