Illinois’ Lake Shelbyville fish to benefit from Christmas tree donations

Trees will be collected in Shelbyville and Sullivan through March 1. (Stock photo)

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance, and DNR will place discarded Christmas trees into Lake Shelbyville to enhance the fisheries. Donated trees are bundled together in small groups and submerged in the lake at select locations.
