Boaters on Big Green Lake in Wisconsin may have been puzzled, maybe even startled, this past summer to see a barge loaded with a 50-foot tree traveling on the lake.
Then the tree was dumped overboard. Rest assured, it was not littering taking place. It was part of a Green Lake Aquatic Structure (GLAS) fish crib/tree drop project spearheaded by Chuck Hurley, the owner of Norton’s Dry Dock in Princeton.
