Wisconsin DNR one year with no secretary

Chris Shea, supervisor of the Wisconsin DNR’s Lake Winnebago conservation warden team, received the 2023 Shikar Safari Club International Wildlife Officer of the Year Award in September.

It has now been more than one year since Adam Payne unexpectedly resigned from his position as secretary of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Since then, the DNR has not had a secretary overseeing one of the most active agencies in the state.
