Don’t make these three mistakes with cell cameras that hunters often make

Cell cameras are almost more common than traditional cameras these days. While there are obvious benefits to cameras that can send you real-time images, there are downsides as well. Cell cameras don’t capture 100% of the deer that pass by, and they also don’t replace good old-fashioned scouting. (Contributed photos)

Fifteen years ago, the idea of having a trail camera deliver up-to-the-minute images to your phone was wild. Today, it’s standard. Such is the way of technology, and while it seems as if cell cameras are a step up from the earlier versions of trail cameras, they aren’t without their faults.
Part of this is due to the reality of electronics in the woods, and part of it is due to how we use them.
