Anti-frackers in Ohio score at least a partial victory after bid for drilling at Salt Fork withdrawn

The withdrawal does not mean there will be no fracking at Salt Fork. Two parcels of its parkland were approved for bidding at the commission’s February meeting. But the August withdrawal did put a temporary stop to additional drilling efforts there. (File photo by Bob Drieslein)

Those protesting fracking and drilling in Ohio state parks and wildlife areas have won at least a temporary victory against additional forces seeking to extract oil and gas from under Salt Fork State Park and Wildlife Area in Guernsey County.
