More than 700 community members joined the Hackmatack Monarch Coalition and Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge in the Crystal Lake Park District Aug. 11 to support monarch conservation and to learn about how locals can make a difference in area neighborhoods of Illinois.
The site of the Monarch Fair was just south of the emerging Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge.
