Lows Lower Dam work continues in Adirondacks, with access still limited for outdoor users

New York DEC reminds outdoor recreationists that the Lower Dam Road (circled) and access remain closed during the summer and likely fall season while the dam is being rebuilt. The area is part of the Bog River Complex. (Map by NYSDEC)

Summer and likely fall access to a popular but remote Adirondack fishing, camping and paddling destination remains limited due to an ongoing dam reconstruction project.
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation continues to remind the public that the gate on the access road leading to the Bog River Dam, also known as Lows Lower Dam, is closed for dam maintenance. The Lower Dam Road and parking area near the end of the road remain closed to public use for the duration of the construction project.
