Recent comments from a Game Commission biologist describe how chronic wasting disease is spreading even faster than expected.
And recently, I read where two hunters in Texas died after eating infected deer meat. Even though the U.S. Centers for Disease Control claims there is no link between their deaths and CWD, the report, which was published in a peer-reviewed journal, is very alarming. The Game Commission needs to consider the Texas report and advise if its position on consumption and testing of deer in CWD-prevalent areas has changed, or not.
