Conservation groups report progress on U.S. Farm Bill

While the odds that a fresh, new federal Farm Bill will have been established by the time an extension to the current bill expires this fall are debatable, conservation groups nonetheless expressed approval of recent progress made regarding the massive bill’s conservation title.
On May 2, Delta Waterfowl issued a press release reporting that “the legislative process toward delivering a new U.S. Farm Bill has taken important first steps …” The release came on the heels of announcements by two key members of U.S. House and Senate ag committees who’d put forward their Farm Bill proposals.
