Freddie McKnight: Pennsylvania’s least-pressured gamefish, the chain pickerel, plenty fun to catch

Few anglers go out specifically to catch chain pickerel. They are the Rodney Dangerfields of Pennsylvania’s fishing world. That’s too bad, because this least-pursued of our state’s gamefish species is both easy and fun to catch.
Memories of my childhood days fishing include many a chain pickerel taken from two streams that coursed through the valley in which I lived.
