Few anglers go out specifically to catch chain pickerel. They are the Rodney Dangerfields of Pennsylvania’s fishing world. That’s too bad, because this least-pursued of our state’s gamefish species is both easy and fun to catch.
Memories of my childhood days fishing include many a chain pickerel taken from two streams that coursed through the valley in which I lived.
