Two eaglets blown from tree in Illinois storm

The bald eagle is a common migrant and winter resident in Illinois. It is a rare summer resident, although some eagles do nest in the state. (Stock photo by Eric Morken)

Two eaglets died after strong winds blew a bald eagle nest out of the top of a tree in southern Illinois.
It happened on Miller City Road near Horseshoe Lake.
