The port of Duluth-Superior is a major economic engine for Minnesota, handling an average of 35 million short tons of cargo every year. Ships leaving the harbor carry iron ore and grain, while those inbound bring us wind turbines and limestone.
Unfortunately, those ships also can carry something unwanted: invasive species that disrupt our Great Lakes ecosystems.
