Minnesota Environmental Partnership questions EPA’s ballast proposal for Great Lakes

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published the agency’s 2023 Vessel Incidental Discharge National Standards of Performance Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the federal register on Oct. 18, 2023.
The 2023 proposed rulemaking focuses some attention to the Great Lakes, especially the Lake Superior area. Steve Morse, executive director of the Minnesota Environmental Partnership, is concerned with some of the new proposed rulemaking.
