November 14 signaled the conclusion of the first portion of ruffed grouse season in Michigan. The second grouse season began Dec. 1, the day after the firearm deer season ended, and runs through Jan. 1.
The 16-day respite for the firearms deer season provides a distinct division of where you consider looking for grouse in the early versus late seasons.
