Commentary: National Shooting Sports Foundation says USFWS ‘final rule’ on refuge lead use unacceptable

The National Shooting Sports Foundation writes that requiring the use of alternative ammunition to traditional lead ammo would put a significant cost barrier to participation in hunting and fishing on lands. (Stock photo by Ron Spomer)

NSSF, the Firearm Industry Trade Association, rejects the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service “final rule” (announced Oct. 27) that bans the use of traditional lead ammunition on eight national wildlife refuges and fishing tackle on seven NWRs in exchange for opening hunting and fishing opportunities on public lands.
