The Minnesota DNR was out testing thousands of deer in the state’s CWD management and surveillance zones this past weekend as the firearms deer season kicked off.
The testing results from those deer are not available yet, but the DNR had sampled 437 deer as of Nov. 3, the Friday before the firearms opener. Of the 437 samples, 306 came back negative, 129 are still being tested, and two have come back positive.
