“Don’t waste your money,” was the advice of an old friend (you know who you are) who has spent decades in the agribusiness field in central Wisconsin. “I am not putting any in this year.”
I had taken up a seat next to him at the bar in Two Lakes Supper Club, in Almond, Wis. The gentleman in question is a fan of my columns. We were discussing food plots. He said he was not putting them in on his land this year, due to the dry weather. It has been very dry here. We have sandy soil. I often say we are never more than three days from a drought.
