KR Buck takes lifelong interest in the outdoors to Iowa Natural Resources Commission

KR Buck recalls an early choice he made between athletics and the outdoors.
His freshman basketball coach in Council Bluffs, Iowa, announced that the upcoming Saturday would require a practice to decide A-, B- and C-level squads. Those who did not attend would be excluded from the coveted top team. 
“I can’t be at practice,” he told the coach. “It’s opening day of deer season.” However, the coach wouldn’t budge. Finally, Buck replied, “I’m only going to play basketball a few years. I’m going to hunt a lifetime.”
