The Minnesota House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee had a special meeting on Monday at the State Capitol to discuss updates on chronic wasting disease efforts as well as updates from agencies on various programs.
The committee passed a budget package last legislative session with funding going toward CWD surveillance with the hopes of reducing the spread of the disease across the state. There were officials from the Minnesota Center for Prion Research and Outreach (MNPRO), Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP), Minnesota DNR, and the Board of Animal Health at Monday’s meeting.
