Streams of Thought: Another memorable Minnesota duck opener behind us

A friend and freelance writer for this newspaper caught crappies and killed ducks on the same lake, about four miles from my house, last weekend. I didn’t join him because A) he didn’t ask me to join him, and B) because I was some five hours by pickup away from the area. (Maybe that’s why he didn’t ask, but it seems unlikely, given that he texted me from the lake as he fished on Friday night).
