Many times, I’ve seen ducks come back to a field to feed, lock their wings as they see the decoys, and then flare hard at about 100 yards out. We’ll see hunters get up from the center of their decoy spread and wonder what caused this reaction. Next flock, same reaction. I’m sure if you’re reading this, you’ve been there.
