I’ve always encouraged my readers and listeners to follow the advice of our wildlife biologists. April through early June are the times that wildlife babies begin to show up. Each year I re-preach what the DNR says: “Leave wildlife babies where they belong – in the wild.”
In one rare case recently, I changed my tune just a bit and gave a hen mallard and her 11 ducklings a guided trip to the water on East Okoboji.
