Catching two fish on one line? The Dubuque Rig makes it possible on parts of the Mississippi River

The three-way swivel is the catalyst that forms the Dubuque Rig. On some regions of the Mississippi River, anglers can use two hooks on one line. Shown is the author’s favorite rig which consists of a braided line from the reel tied to one eye of the swivel. On another eye is a leader of fluorocarbon line 12 inches long with a 1/2-ounce jighead tipped with a plastic body. This is the dropper line that maintains contact with the bottom. On the third eye of the swivel is a leader of fluorocarbon line 24 inches long with a plain hook tipped with a twister tail. On some regions of the Mississippi River, anglers can use two hooks on one line.
It’s uncommon to catch two fish on one line, but when you are using a Dubuque Rig, the two hooks coming off that three-way swivel can sometimes get bit at the same time.
