Illinois deer harvest total shows an increase of nearly 12,000 in 2022-23 seasons

The Illinois DNR announced on Feb. 22 that hunters took 158,010 deer during the 2022-23 deer season, which wrapped up  Jan. 15. The total was a significant increase from the 146,438 deer taken in 2021-2022.
