Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame announces 2023 inductees

Four individuals and two organizations will be enshrined by the Fishing Hall of Fame of Minnesota in 2023. Inductees in the Individual Legends category are Tom Carlson, Russ Francisco, Jeff Sundin, and Hank Ebert. In addition, Reeds Family Outdoor Outfitters and F-M Walleyes Unlimited will round out this year’s list.

Minnesota deer from Hennepin County given helicopter rides as research project begins

Research officials from the University of Minnesota and Three Rivers Park District affixed the deer with GPS radio collars, which will be used to monitor their movements year-round for two years. Researchers also took blood and fecal samples, as well as nasal and mouth swabs to test for SARS-CoV-2 (SCV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19 in humans. The deer were then released back into the wild, and in good condition.
