Michigan may relinquish its title of having the largest deer harvest in the Midwest after results are finalized from the state’s first mandatory deer reporting system. Wisconsin hunters reported killing 331,805 deer in 2022, according to statistics gathered by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, during what has been labeled a pretty good season. Wisconsin firearms hunters in particular had reason to celebrate, killing 14% more deer during their Nov. 19-27 season than in 2021.
