Roller-crimpers help cut herbicide use on cover crops

Roller-crimpers provide habitat managers a means of killing off cover crops without having to use herbicides. Roller-crimpers are available in different sizes. Some can be filled with water to provide more down pressure. (Contributed photos)

Roller-crimpers typically consist of a drum, or multiple drums, with a series of blunt blades that work by pushing the cover crop down and crimping the plants along the way.
