The heat wave has broken, at least for a bit, and that has allowed for a few more to hit the water. But the question is, how’s the bite?
You might find them on the rocks in 3 to 4 feet of water in mid-August when the water gets most mucked up. A spinner and chub is best.
Muskie activity seems to keep getting better and the fish being seen and caught this week have been bigger.
If there’s a seemingly magical time when a muskie may be most likely to bite, it’s the hour or so when darkness overtakes daylight.
You’ll get some bonus bluegills from time to time on this rig, but at this time of summer, walleyes need some vibration and noise to trigger them to bite.
