Division of Wildlife caters to ladies with upcoming range shoot
Xenia, Ohio — Calling all ladies, the Ohio DNR Division of Wildlife is looking at you, kid!
Women are invited to experience one of Ohio’s premier public shooting ranges on Tuesday, Sept. 25, during Ladies Night at the Range, according to the Ohio DNR. The event is free and will be held at the Spring Valley Wildlife Area shooting range, 3450 Houston Road, Waynesville.
The ODNR Division of Wildlife is holding this event as part of a continued effort to provide more opportunities for recreational shooters. New female shooters can gain hands-on experience with firearms at no charge from certified instructors. Staff will offer on-site instruction to new shooters and will provide equipment, ammunition, and hearing and eye protection free of charge. A lite meal will also be served.
“We are encouraging women to try a new skill, spend an evening with ladies who have similar interests and learn from certified trainers. This is a great opportunity for ladies of all ages who have an interest in outdoor pursuits but may not know where to start,” said Kathy Garza-Behr, Wildlife District Five communications specialist.
Pre-registration is required and is limited to 24 attendees. To register, call Brittany at the ODNR Wildlife District Five office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 937-372-9261. Registration deadline is Sept. 21. No walk-ins will be accepted.
