Half of Friday’s bass fishing sectionals postponed until today

Only half of the Illinois High School Association bass fishing sectionals were held on Friday, as weather and flooding made conditions unsafe on a dozen lakes. Teams are scheduled to fish today (Monday, May 8) at those lakes with hopes of finishing in the top three and advancing to the state finals May 20-21 at Carlyle Lake.

At sectionals that were held, teams were able to find fish. For example, at Banner Marsh, Farmington No. 2 totaled 11 pounds, 4 ounces to hold off Farmington No. 1 (9.15) and Elmwood No. 1 (9.10). All three teams advance.
