Illinois Deer Classic moving back to Peoria, sets July 2017 dates

The Illinois Deer Classic continues its restless run, but at least it’s still running.

Word spread today that the show – officially titled the Illinois Deer and Turkey Expo – will return to Peoria in 2017.

It was held in Bloomington this year under a calendar change – moving to  August after years of being a February and March show. Before that it had a run in Springfield. Before that, it was in, well, Peoria. And before that…….Simply put, it has had two lives in each Illinois city: Springfield, Bloomington and Peoria.

Anyway, the 2017 show at the Peoria Civic Center will stick to the summer format, but this time it will be July 28-30 and won’t coincide with the Illinois State Fair, as it did this year.

Stay tuned for more details.
