South Central Pennsylvania Fishing Report – January 1st, 2016

Lake Marburg (York County) — Panfishing was productive as of Dec. 17, with crappies, bluegills, and yellow perch biting on soft plastic minnows, waxworms, and live minnows. Many crappies were 10 to 11 inches. 

Long Arm Reservoir (York County) — Largemouth bass were hitting jigs and plastic crawlers in recent weeks.

Susquehanna River — The bass bite was hit or miss as of Dec. 16. It was slow on the lower reaches, but more active above Harrisburg. 

Marquette Lake (Lebanon County) — Panfish were reported on crawlers as of Dec. 17.

Yellow Breeches Creek (Cumberland County) — Sculpin streamers, plugs, spinners, and soft plastics were productive on trout in recent weeks. 

Raystown Lake (Huntingdon County) — Black crappies, yellow perch, and white perch were reported around blow-downs on the southern end, with small tubes tipped with fathead minnows productive.

Juniata River (Juniata County) — Smallmouth bass were reported on tube baits and 4-inch plastic crawlers in recent weeks.

Holman Lake (Perry County) — Anglers reported catching some stocked trout on brightly-colored pastebaits on this Little Buffalo State Park lake in recent weeks.
