Allegheny Reservoir (McKean County) — As water temperatures climbed in late July, walleyes moved to deeper, cooler water. Cowanesque, Tioga, Hammond lakes (Tioga, Potter counties) — Bass anglers were doing well in the evening and nighttime hours in late July, as bass chased schools of young fish along the edges of the lake. Youghiogheny River (Fayette County) — Bass, walleyes, trout, freshwater drum, rock bass and catfish were reported through late July. Monongahela River (Greene, Washington counties) — Some anglers were releasing muskies, including many legal-size, through late July.

Lake Erie  — Walleyes were reported in 70 to 75 feet close to the Ohio line at July’s end. Some anglers were doing well on deep-diving crankbaits in 55 to 70 feet. Although hit or miss for much of this summer, perch fishing was picking up with some limits being taken in 50 to 52
