Lake George: Lake trout have been offering up the most consistent action, with fish on either side of the lake’s 23-inch size minimum reported. The regular bass season kicks off next month, and that will likely mean an increase in fishing pressure.
Saratoga Lake: The folks at Saratoga Tackle reported the crappie bite was still on at The Ditch, off Fitch Road and around the state boat launch. Bass (catch-and-release) action was good for anglers using hard baits, spinnerbaits and soft plastics. There have been some pike responding as well to shiners, lipless crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Try the right side of the lake, starting at the tennis courts. Pickerel have been very active, as well.
