Southeast Pennsylvania Fishing Report – January 2nd, 2015

Tulpehocken Creek (Berks County) — Conditions Dec. 15 were nearly ideal, and anglers were advised to fish small Pheasant Tails, midges, and other standard patterns. Hatches included blue-winged olives (20-24) and midges (18-28).

Blue Marsh Lake (Berks County) — Crappies and bass were hitting jigs in recent weeks.

Hay Creek, Scott’s Run Lake (Berks County) — Brown trout were hitting mealworms in recent weeks.

Lake Ontelaunee (Berks County) — Crappies were hitting along Route 73, but the bite was inconsistent in recent weeks.

Schuylkill River (Philadelphia, Montgomery counties)  — Catfish were taking chicken livers, crawlers, and chunks of pepperoni through early December. Trout were still reported in Norristown Farm Park after a sportsmen’s club stocking.
