North Central Pennsylvania Fishing Report – January 2nd, 2015

Big Fishing Creek (Clinton County) — Conditions were good as of Dec. 15 and anglers reported nice catches of trout. TCO Fly Shop said most action was on nymphs in the deep, slower water, and urged anglers to avoid targeting spawning fish. Hatches included tiny Blue-Winged Olives (20-22) and Midges (22-26).

Marilla Reservoir (McKean County)  — A trout stocking was slated for Dec. 15.

Parker Lake (Clearfield County) — A trout stocking originally slated for Oct. 8 was rescheduled for Dec. 17. 

Beechwood Lake (Tioga County) — A trout stocking was slated for Dec. 17.

Ridgeway Reservoir (Elk County) — A trout stocking was slated for Dec. 15.

Cloe Lake (Jefferson County) — A trout stocking was slated for Dec. 16.

Penns Creek (Snyder, Union counties) — TCO Fly Shop reported that flow was a little high but beginning to fall Dec. 15, and had some color. Streamers, eggs, and large stonefly patterns were effective. Anglers were advised to watch out for spawning trout. Hatches includes tiny blue-winged olives (20-22) and midges (20-24).
