St. Lawrence River: Some good muskies have been taken of late, primarily on trolled spoons and stick baits. Weather conditions have limited fishing. Black Lake: Nothing to report, and that may be the case now until safe ice.

Not much happening on the fishing front. Hunters have offered up mixed reports this season.

Little to report during the cold snap and at the height of the deer season.

Not enough fishing to offer up any report. Hunters have had a hit-and-miss season thus far, with some good bucks taken.

The cold front that settled into the report area dropped the water temperatures in the Sound and Ocean.  As a result of the drop in water temperature, there were fewer bluefish blitzes reported along the beaches and from boat anglers. Bluefish continue to be mixed in with the stripers, but fewer have been reported. Also,

Deer hunters were making their final regular season push for a whitetail buck, while anglers awaited the first ice of the season.

Cayuga Lake: Trolling 70 to 90 feet down with spoons or flasher and flies was still producing some lake trout for a few hardy anglers. Seneca Lake: Some brown trout and landlocked salmon can be found near major creek mouths. A few are even starting to enter the lower portions of tributaries like Catharine Creek

Lake Ontario: Tributary fishing for brown trout and steelhead has been picking up before the snow. Egg sacs, egg patterns and Woolly Buggers can all be productive.  Oneida Lake: The shore walleye bite continued to be dependable. Casting stick baits or crankbaits just before and after dark was producing some good catches of walleye.  Oswego
