Southern Illinois Fishing Report – July 25th, 2014

Devils’ Kitchen: Bluegill action has picked up. However, anglers are reporting most fish are running small. Crab Orchard Lake: Catfish are the best bet. Anglers are taking good numbers of fish on stinkbaits, cut baits, and leeches. Crappies have slowed down. Fish have moved into 7-9 feet over brush. Minnows and jigs are both effective.

Northern Illinois Fishing Report- July 25th, 2014

Chain: Most fish are slower. Bluegills have been good in and around shallow shoreline piers or laydowns. Catfish are excellent on nightcrawlers or leeches. Walleye fishing remains good around bridge areas. Crappies are fair in 10-12 feet, with Marie best. White bass are good. Muskies are decent on topwaters mornings or evening, or try bucktails.
