Walleyes and northern pike are being caught in 12 to 18 feet at Maple Lake and Little Mary Lake. On Lake Miltona, walleyes are hitting during the evening hours in 18 to 20 feet. A few crappies are coming off Lake Darling in seven feet during the evening hours. Depending on the lake, you’ll find three to seven inches of ice.

BATTLE LAKE
Most small lakes and bays have four to six inches of ice, but there’s still thin ice on the bigger lakes. Anglers are walking out to 10 to 14 feet and catching crappies and bluegills at Silver Lake, Blanche Lake, Bogan Lake, and Bellmont Lake. Walleye action is improving with fish coming from 14 to 20 feet of water on Rush Lake, West Battle Lake, and Otter Tail Lake.

DETROIT LAKES
Anglers are finding five to 10 inches of ice, but it varies from lake to lake. Walleyes, panfish, and pike are hitting on the 15-foot weed and structure areas of Little Detroit Lake and Big Detroit Lake. On lakes Melissa, Pelican, and Sallie walleyes are being pulled from 18 to 20 feet. Pike are hitting in shallow water on Sour Lake, while Floyd Lake and Severson Lake are giving up sunfish in 12 to 16 feet.
