Traverse City Area

Steelhead fishing has been very good in all the rivers in the area, including the Boardman, Jordan, Elk, and Betsie. Grouse hunting remains very good and bucks are chasing does, so archery hunters are seeing lots of deer.

Cadillac Area

Fishing pressure has been light on lakes Mitchell and Cadillac. Hunting pressure also has been light. Bucks are on the prowl. Grouse hunters are flushing light numbers of birds.

Houghton Lake Area

Walleye and pike are moving into the shallows at night on Houghton Lake, but fishing pressure has been light. Minnow-imitating crankbaits are producing good results. Pike also are hitting in the Muskegon River at the Reedsburg Dam. Grouse hunting has been good, and archery deer hunters report that bucks are chasing does.

Oscoda Area

Walleye fishing has been good at the mouth of the AuSable River. A few steelhead are being caught, too. Deer hunting has been good, and bucks are on the move.
