North Central Pennsylvania Fishing Report – September 27th, 2013

Penns Creek (Lycoming County) — Low, clear conditions were reported Sept. 12, with water in the mid- to upper 60s. Trout should not be targeted above 70 degrees. Dry dropper/stimulator combinations were effective, with Stonefly on top and small nymph below. Hatches included Black Midges (18-22), Slate Drakes (12-14), and Tan Caddis (14-16).

Spring Creek (Centre County) — Water was a low and clear and temperatures were in the low to mid-60s as of Sept. 12. Nymphing with small Pheasant Tails (14-16) and Caddis Larva was recommended. A dry/dropper combination also was effective in shallow riffles. Hatches included Tricos (22-28), Midges (22-26), Blue-Winged Olives (18-22), Tan Caddis (14-16), and Craneflies (16-18).
