Southwest Pennsylvania Fishing Report – August 16th, 2013

Allegheny, Monongahela, Ohio rivers (Allegheny County) — Smallmouth bass and catfish were reported on the Mon from the Mon Wharf upriver to 18th Street access, on the Ohio below Emsworth Dam and throughout the Neville Island back channel, and around Point State Park, where all three rivers come together. The Allegheny was yielding channel cats on stinkbaits, especially in the early morning and evening hours. A gar was reported near Sharpsburg on the Allegheny. The Mon also was yielding walleyes near Braddock, and sublegal muskies upriver of that location.

Allegheny River (Armstrong County) — Some bass and catfish were reported, along with sublegal walleyes on shiners at No. 8 Dam. A 40-inch-plus catfish was released at No. 8 Dam in recent weeks.

Youghiogheny River (Fayette County) — Smallmouth bass and freshwater drum were reported on this Monongahela River tributary.
