Southwest Pennsylvania Fishing Report – August 2nd, 2013

Ebensburg Reservoir, Glendale Lake (Cambria County) — Nice-size bass were hitting through mid-July in both waters.

Colver (Vetera) Reservoir (Cambria County) — Crappies were reported in recent weeks.

Laurel Hill Lake (Somerset County) — Largemouth bass and nice bluegills were reported in recent weeks.

Quemahoning Reservoir (Somer­set County) — A good bass bite was reported through mid-July, along with a few northern pike and some big crappies.

Lake Somerset (Somerset County) — Channel catfish, carp and bluegills were reported in recent weeks despite dense weed growth and muddy conditions.

High Point Lake (Somerset County) — Bass, bluegills, crappies, northern pike and some small perch were hitting in recent weeks.

Youghiogheny River (Somerset County) — A July 4 weekend stocking made for good fishing at least through mid-July, with nice-size brown trout reported.

Youghiogheny River Reservoir (Somerset County) — Channel catfish, and perch and walleyes (as extreme heat conditions allowed) were reported in recent weeks, with fish biting along the shoreline at Jockey Hollow, Somerfield, the Route 50 Bridge, and the dam breast access.
