Average bass angling was reported Oct. 5 with anglers releasing fish up to 18 inches on 4-inch plastic worms and spinnerbaits.

Tulpehocken Creek (Berks County)

Water was a decent level Oct. 13, and nymphing the deeper water was the best bet. Midges (18-20) were hatching.

Little Lehigh River (Lehigh County)

Bushkill near Easton was productive after the recent stocking, with fathead minnows, Powerbait and butter worms the tickets.  Smallmouth bass also were hitting in recent weeks. Heavy rainfall caused some flooding at the start of the month, but levels recovered. Trout were hitting subsurface flies with flash during the day and midges for dry fly anglers toward evening.
